My two year old is so loud. I love that she is outgoing and spirited, but the volume is often too much. I wonder how I teach her volume control without drowning her expression.

Just tell your child to turn it down... it's ok for you to sing sweatheart but sing a little softer please, thank you. You should say this at the level you feel is appropriate for the situation, but you should "mean business" , your yes has to be yes and your no has to be no. Ultimately you're teaching your child to respect others. Sometimes it's ok to belt it out and sometimes it is not. You have to help your child learn, with time and consistency, the difference. Until they get it you will have to lead the way in each circumstance. This has been my experience and my 11 y.o. daughter is expressing herself in very profound poems, songs, and stories.
